(I mean Happy Belated Mardi Gras - it was yesterday - but I was too sad not being in Louisiana to talk about it)
The Color of Sexy Post leads me to talk about Color a bit more. Color is a very important part of design, as it is a very important part of our lives. Colors are proven to have psychological effects so they do matter, even if you don't care.
In Design we build seasonal collections around color, not based on psychology necessarily, but on trend, product, season and customer.
In that last post VS queened Green Jade as the Color of Sexy but we all know the Color of Sexy is Red.
Though, no doubt, this satin, jade top on this model is a Sexy look.
Just for color education sake......
is Sexy, Bold, Republican (if you follow that kind of stuff), and Daring
is Natural, Eco friendly, and Irish
Together Red & Green are Christmas!!!
When designing, this is something to keep in mind: colors associated to holidays, sports teams...
So, being from South Louisiana, I always find amusement when I see something designed in

*** Note in different Cultures colors take on different meanings. For example it is custom for brides in China to wear Red dresses where as in America that would be a very Bold statement. ***
